every day, a woman bought 60 kilos of beef — but when police discovered what she needed all that meat…
He thought about the strange order for the rest of the morning.
But he eventually dismissed it.
People had their reasons.
And Lidia had always been private.
That evening, however, Ovidiu learned something that made the entire situation seem much stranger.
A neighbor casually mentioned that Lidia’s son had died several years earlier.
Ovidiu’s stomach tightened.
Her son was dead?
Then why had she told him that her son was coming to visit?
He wondered whether he’d misunderstood her.
Maybe she had meant a relative.
Maybe she had been confused.
Maybe she had simply said something that didn’t make sense.
The next morning, Ovidiu was still thinking about it when Lidia walked through the butcher shop door again.
She made the same request.
“Sixty kilos of beef.”
Ovidiu stared at her.
“Again?”
She nodded.
He hesitated.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
She pulled out her money.
Her hands were shaking.
This time, Ovidiu couldn’t ignore the feeling that something was wrong.
But Lidia refused to explain.
She paid for the meat, collected the packages, and left.
The following day, she returned again.
Sixty kilos.
And then again.
By the fourth day, the entire village was talking.
People began creating their own explanations.
Some believed Lidia was feeding dozens of stray dogs.
Others suspected she was secretly selling the meat.
Someone even claimed that she might be supplying restaurants.
But none of the theories explained why she repeatedly purchased such an enormous amount of beef.
And there was one detail that made the story even stranger.
Every time she left the butcher shop, she took the meat toward an abandoned area near the edge of the forest.
There stood an old building that had been unused for years.
Some villagers avoided the place entirely.
It had once been connected to an old industrial site, but it had been abandoned long ago.
