every day, a woman bought 60 kilos of beef — but when police discovered what she needed all that meat…

Lidia would disappear in that direction with her heavy bags.

Then she would return later without saying a word.

Ovidiu became increasingly uncomfortable.

He began watching her more closely.

He noticed that Lidia frequently looked over her shoulder.

Sometimes she seemed frightened.

Sometimes she stopped suddenly and stared down the street as though she believed someone was following her.

When customers tried asking questions, she refused to answer.

She simply lowered her head and walked away.

Finally, Ovidiu decided that he could no longer ignore what was happening.

He contacted the police.

At first, the officers weren’t convinced.

Buying large quantities of meat wasn’t a crime.

There was no evidence that Lidia had done anything illegal.

“What is happening in there?”

They walked toward the entrance.

The door was shut.

They tried the handle.

Locked.

They knocked.

No answer.

“Police. Open the door.”

Silence.

They knocked again.

Still nothing.

Then they heard something from inside.

A faint sound.

Almost like movement.

The officers looked at each other.

They tried the door again.

It wouldn’t open.

Eventually, they forced it.

The door swung inward.

Inside, the building was almost completely dark.

The officers switched on their flashlights.

The floor was dirty.

There were torn plastic bags scattered across the ground.

There were dark stains near the entrance.

And then they saw Lidia.

She was standing at the far end of the room.
