Brought a tin of these to card club and one lady wrapped six in a napkin for her purse when…

There are some little homemade sweets that travel farther than any fancy bakery treat, and this is one of them. These cracker sandwiches coated in chocolate have been passed around in church basements, tucked into holiday tins, and scribbled into Midwestern community cookbooks for years because they are thrifty, easy, and mighty hard to stop eating. With only three ingredients and no oven to fuss with, they are just the sort of dependable treat a home cook can make in an afternoon and set out with coffee, carry to card club, or stash away for the weekend.

Set these out with hot coffee, cold milk, or a pot of tea, and they disappear in a hurry. They fit right in on Christmas cookie trays, baby shower tables, and after-supper dessert plates, and they also make a fine little sweet bite alongside vanilla ice cream or a bowl of salted nuts if you want a balance of creamy, crunchy, sweet, and salty.
